Konichiwa minasan~ (hello to everyone)~ Through out my entire life i've took on plenty of part time jobs during school breaks whenever possible. These part time jobs ranged from being a waiter, tutor, receptionist at a hotel and others~ Like many other jobs i have gained valuable experience, new friends and went through a whole lot funny shit hahaha those were days~
*ahem* anyways, i remmber one time while i was working as a receptionist at a hotel (the anggerek hotel to be exact). Being able to speak a little japanese (of which i've learned from watching lots and lots of anime) i was pretty sure that i can handle a normal converstaion with real Japanese people. hahaha well that remains to be seen as we progress futher through this story XD One day my ablities to converse in Japanese were put to the test when an old Japanese couple decided to check in at our hotel. I knew they were Japanese the moment i saw them because i have a good eye for these things (plus, the man's t-shirt which has "I (heart) Tokyo" on it helped a lot XP hahahahaha).
So, i braced myself for the ultimate test of my knowledge of the Japanese language. As they were about to enter the reception counter i formed and reherse a few of the basic Japanese lines which included greetings and all that shit. *dup, dup, dup, dup* They came, smiled and put their luggage down and the old man said "goodmorning. I believe you have a reservation for a deluxe type room under the name of xxx." *a silent pause* .......... *followed with more silence with my lower jaw gardually lowering from its original position (CRAP!! -.-" i wan't expecting that~ coz the data said they were Japanese tourists with a poor command of English and i was chosen to greet them due to my ability converse in Japanese) wth man? I don't see which part of his English that was poor??? "excuse me? Is something wrong? continued Mr xxx-san. I snapped out of my shocked status and came to (along with my lower jaw which has moved back to it's original position >.<)
LOL~ that was stupid. I spoke to them in Japanese later on afer i checked them in, but it ended in failure because i uttered one sentence, "ano... sumimasen" and they launched into a string of long Japanese sentences (and they were pretty excited about it as well) of which i didn't understand at all (this time, the papers in my hands dropped instead of my jaw -.-"), but in the end, i managed to utter a single word which made them stop and that word was 'no' hahahahahaha~ The next conversation was in English lol.. and that saved me -.-"
So much for speaking Japanese XD
